Homestead Living

We didn’t get to do too much with the Cabin again this weekend, but that didn’t keep us from being productive! We’ve learned that there is always more to be done around here! My father-in-law brought home a beautiful tractor and I was given the privilege of the maiden voyage running the tiller! I did the first tilling with a gas powered push rototiller, and boy oh boy was the John Deere an upgrade! We’ll have a garden in no time!

Riding the tractor was actually extremely entertaining. We also finally got the chicks fenced area finished up early in the week! They were awful happy to get introduced to The Great Outdoors!

Throughout the week we’ve also seen Spring start to reveal itself! It’s been pretty rainy – which of course I don’t love – but it’s been turning everything green and quite a few flowers are starting to sprout as well! I can’t wait to see all the different flowers that come out in our new space.

Other than those few things all we did was clean up the yard a bit, fix our RV heater (it was making a crazy ruckus!), and then we cleaned out the space where the addition used to be. We didn’t clean out the space very well when we finished the addition removal project so it was really nice to get it all wrapped up! You can really see the difference all the rain has made between the first picture and the last two.

On Sunday we ended up mountain biking in the afternoon and when we were done we took a little trip up to the top of the property to view the views. It was a gorgeous afternoon! The whole time we were looking out at the view we just kept saying how lucky we are to have it in our very own backyard, it’s incredible!

    1. He had a ton of information! He gave us a lot of different options, but sounded like he usually works with much newer and more expensive log homes. We’ll see if we can use him in the future projects!
