So, it’s June. JUNE. I can hardly believe it. Plenty has happened since my last update on the bathroom. We were able to shower in our own home for the first time on January 31st (hurray!!!!). Old news now :). We also have had a functional downstairs toilet and vanity since mid to end of February. And we completed a *small* amount of trim installation. We are absolutely in the midst of a much needed, highly anticipated Cabin work hiatus. However, it’s already been months….and it really might drag on a bit longer. We have some projects we need to get done this summer while it’s warm and dry out, like a wood stove and improved insulation. Because brrrrr it was cold last winter! But we are really enjoying taking it slow and easy, and really just enjoying the fruits of our labor.
We installed flooring as soon as we finished the tub and shower installation and wow did it change the bathroom. It suddenly felt like construction in the home was finally wrapping up! Throughout this project I have been regularly excited about each process that is completed and each one we start. I think after we finished the *bare minimum* on the bathroom, I was no longer excited to start anything new. I’m hoping with a break I will get excited to start the projects we have left!
Since finishing the bathroom a few small things have moved around, but it essentially looks like the last two pictures (plus a bit more trim). I adore our bathroom. Compared to the rest of the size of the Cabin, it is massive. But it is a pretty standard sized bathroom and suits us perfectly. We are so happy to have a fully functional home! *minus in home laundry*, but we do have a dishwasher now, which I neglected to record photographic evidence of.
We also graveled our current driveway/future addition site! That was an amazing project, it was quick and fairly easy, and made a large area so much more functional (and less of an eye sore). And, of course, I had to throw in a couple pictures of the goats and Jabba, they are too precious not to. Then, our most recent project, which was incredibly cheap and changed our outdoor space (even more) into my happy place, we upgraded the super sketchy ramp! And while it is temporary, it is long term temporary, so we made it as functional as possible.
We also graveled a little bit extra for ease of lawn care and to provide us with a little BBQ area because hello! June is here!
The final and most important, though heartbreaking, update is the loss of our best friend Maverick. He was the best of boys, the most loyal companion through all of our projects, and he is dearly missed. We are still heartbroken by the semi sudden loss, but we are grateful he didn’t have to suffer for long.
We’re so grateful you were a part of our family Maverick. We love you. We miss you.
